about us

We truly want you and your family to have the best experience in our home and city.

Jamie and I, Dan, moved from California and acquired the Butler House in December 2019 as third generation innkeepers. I grew up nearby in Youngstown, NY, and returned home after serving in the US Navy as a submarine officer, then at Micron Technology as a Marketing Director. My wife Jamie was a talented jazz singer and pianist in Taiwan who transitioned her life to the US when we got married, and recently celebrated our eleven-year anniversary at the Falls!

We love to host family and friends, and both blessed to travel the world since childhood. With Niagara Falls being one of the largest international tourist destinations in the US, we now have the pleasure to accommodate visitors from around the world.

Before owning the Butler House, we stayed here as guests and immediately fell in love with the location, convenience, and experience the house provided. We are excited to start a small family business in this new chapter of our lives, and with a passion for cooking and entertainment, hosting guests at the Butler House a perfect fit!

The Butler House is a two-story brick craftsman inspired executive residence built in circa 1910, a period of time when scientists were harnessing the power of the Niagara River for electricity and the city attracting manufacturers with the promise of inexpensive hydroelectric power. The house was originally built for the sales manager of the Carborundum Company, George W. Chormann, then later converted to a bed & breakfast in 2004 by the Yoder family.

With COVID-19, we had an opportunity to shutdown eight months and renovate the home for your comfort and convenience. Our goal was to blend the craftsmanship and charm of this home with more modern decor and amenities that appeal to guests of all walks of life. We hope you enjoy the home — It truly is our pleasure to host your stay in Niagara Falls. We look forward to meeting you and hearing about your travels.
